Lawyer Overview

After graduating from law school and being admitted to the State Bar of Montana, Mr.Cok joined the firm of Drysdale, Mclean, Screnar and Cok in Bozeman. While with the Drysdale firm, Mr.Cok began work as a general practitioner and gradually changed the focus of his practice to litigation. In 1981 he founded the firm of Cok and Wheat with Michael E. Wheat. Mr.Cok's practice has evolved over time and is limited to a trial practice representing individuals in claims regarding products liability (unsafe products); brain and spinal injuries; medical malpractice; personal injury; insurance claims/bad faith; aviation accidents; nursing home neglect; and claims involving large scale environmental and toxic pollution. Mr.Cok has also assisted other attorneys and courts around the state as a mediator.

Mr.Cok is married to the former Kathleen Triemstra. They have two daughters, two sons and two grandchildren.

Mr.Cok is a long-term member of the Board of Directors of the Montana Trial Lawyers Association where he has served on several committees. He has been an officer and was President in the years 1998-1999. He presently serves on its Education Committee. Mr.Cok is currently a member of the faculty for the University of Montana School of Law Trial Advocacy School. He is a member of the University of Montana School of Law Development Committee and a board member of the Montana Justice Foundation. In addition to his various bar-related activities, Mr.Cok has volunteered his time and effort on behalf of the Manhattan Christian School, Manhattan, Montana, serving as a member of its Board of Directors for nine years and its President for three years. Mr.Cok attends church at the Bozeman Christian Reformed Church in Bozeman.
